Job summary

TMX Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, build, and maintain distributed infrastructure platforms with IaC and automation. You will implement scalable solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and OpenShift, while supporting existing systems with on-call coverage.

Based in Toronto with a hybrid schedule (2–3 days in office), you will apply AI-assisted tooling like Copilot/Claude to accelerate development and operations, drive platform modernization, and document configurations for global

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or equivalent with 5+ years of progressive system administration experience.
• Deep Linux expertise, RedHat variants, and strong network fundamentals.
• Proven IaC experience using Terraform and Ansible Automation Platform.
• Hands-on with containerization/virtualization platforms such as OpenShift.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain operating systems and system management tools for high availability.
• Drive IaC adoption, translate requirements into scalable automation solutions.
• Develop code for complex system tasks using modern tools to accelerate velocity.
• Monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and provide 2nd/3rd level support with on-call rotation.
• Document infrastructure, update design standards, and create deployment guides.
• Evaluate emerging datacenter technologies aligned with global team goals.
