Job summary

The Royal Glenora Club in Edmonton is seeking a passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare high-quality menu items, maintain stations, and ensure safety and cleanliness while delivering exceptional member experiences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of professional cooking experience.
  • Culinary diploma or apprenticeship training considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, sanitation, and food safety.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Food Safe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain assigned stations before, during, and after service.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to Royal Glenora Club standards.
  • Follow portion control guidelines and minimize waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
  • Properly label, date, rotate, and store food products using FIFO procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to leadership.
  • Assist with banquet, restaurant, lounge, and special event preparation as required.
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special member requests.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
  • Support kitchen-wide cleaning and closing duties, including walk-ins, storage areas, and dish support when needed.
  • Adhere to all Alberta Health Services regulations, Food Safe practices, WHMIS standards, and Club policies.
  • Contribute positively to a team-oriented, respectful, and professional work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by culinary leadership.

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, consistent, and safe manner while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and teamwork.
