  • Understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP) to maintain hygiene and compliance.
  • Familiarity with ingredient storage, handling, and preparation protocols to ensure food quality and minimize waste.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot malfunctioning kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency and high standards.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards during food preparation, cooking, and storage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and promptly report shortages to the kitchen supervisor or chef to ensure efficient stock management.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers safely and effectively to support food preparation.
  • Clean and organize kitchen equipment, tools, utensils, and workstations after and during service to uphold cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Follow health and safety protocols, including proper food storage and temperature monitoring, to comply with regulations and protect guest health.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a seamless kitchen workflow during peak service hours.
  • Accommodate special dietary requests or allergies as instructed by management to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Provide support to dishwashing staff when needed, ensuring kitchen cleanliness and operational flow.
  • Cover dishwasher shifts as required, including dishware cleaning, maintaining dishwashing areas, and organizing kitchen supplies.
