City of Fort St. John is hiring a Pool Attendant I for the NP Leisure Pool - Community Services. The role focuses on patron safety, customer service, and delivering aquatic programs with flexible hours in a part-time capacity.

The successful candidate will supervise and instruct Lifesaving Society BC/Yukon programs, maintain lesson plans, and support facility operations while ensuring safety and cleanliness. Compensation includes a $37.82/hour rate under the BCGEU agreement.

Formación

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Certified Lifesaving Society BC/Yukon Swim for Life Instructor.
• National Lifeguard Pool Option certification or equivalent.
• Able to pass Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector.
• Ability to obtain Lifesaving Instructor/Examiner certification within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain Red Cross Youth Leader certification within 12 months.

Responsabilidades

• Instructs all Learn to Swim levels and other approved programs.
• Evaluate progress and maintain progress records for participants.
• Prepare and manage lesson plans ahead of each session.
• Coordinate pool space with other instructors to minimize disruption.
• Instruct water-based fitness programs and lifeguard for programs and rentals.
• Provide excellent front-line customer service and communicate clearly with all ages.
• Activate emergency procedures and respond to swimmers in distress.
• Maintain daily checklists, attendance, and participation statistics.
• Assist with front desk coverage, collect user fees and admissions as needed.
• Keep facilities clean and perform routine safety checks on equipment.
