Bgco is hiring a part time Lifeguard for the School Aged Child Care Program at our Vernon Club. It's a great opportunity to work with awesome kids and amazing team members. This is a temporary role with a duration of 9 weeks, running from July 2025 to August 2025.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the Program Coordinator to establish safety rules and expectations
  • Work in partnership with the Senior Program Leader and/or Program Area Leader to plan and carry out program activities and special events
  • Ensure the water safety rules and procedures are followed by participants and staff
  • Provide water safety and basic knowledge/education to staff, volunteers and members
  • Establish, communicate and enforce water-front rules
  • Monitor water-front areas and rescue any person in difficulty or distress
  • Set up area for water-based activities
  • Promote an inclusive, discrimination-free environment and encourage diversity
  • Build positive relationships with participants, staff and volunteers
  • Completion of incident reports as needed

Qualifications

  • Current National Lifeguard Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Excellent organization, communication and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively manage behavior
  • Successful completion of our agency screening process

Hours: Maximum of 25 hours per week, Flexible schedule.

Rate of Pay: $22.30 per hour
