Northern Health is seeking a Licensing Officer to oversee licensed child and residential care facilities within Public Health Protection. You will assess risk, promote client safety and dignity, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and related regulations.
Reporting to the Manager or designate, you will monitor facilities, support quality improvement, and contribute to health protection initiatives across Northern BC.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, and as an integral member of the team delivering Public Health services, the Licensing Officer provides service delivery within the framework of the public health/health protection model. This position monitors licensed care facilities to ensure that persons in care are safe, their health is being promoted, and their dignity is maintained. The Licensing Officer collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, health care professionals, and other health authority staff and stakeholders to achieve excellence in licensed child and residential care. They promote quality and continuous improvement and support the goals of Northern Health and Health Protection. The Licensing Officer is responsible for assessing risk to the health and safety of children, youth, and adults in care pursuant to the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, the Child Care Licensing Regulation, and the Residential Care Regulations.
