Alberta Health Services in Hinton is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Operating Room to join the OR team. This casual/relief position supports patient care in a fast-paced perioperative environment, with days and on-call shifts and variable weekly hours.
Required qualifications include an accredited LPN program, active/eligible CLHA registration, and BCLS-HCP. Computer skills with Connect Care and Outlook, plus peri-operative experience, are preferred.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Computer skills including experience in Connect Care, Microsoft Outlook email. Must have completed the Peri-Operative course or have the equivalent of 3 years' Operating Room experience. Minimum 1-year acute care experience.
