Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Grande Prairie is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Emergency department at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. You will collaborate within an interprofessional team and contribute to safe, patient- and family-centred care.

The role is a part-time position (0.48 FTE) with shifts across days, evenings and weekends. A completion of an accredited LPN program, current CLHA registration, and BCLS-HCP are required, along with strong critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

The GPRH Emergency Department consists of a 4 Trauma bays, 18 stretchers and 1 seclusion room, fast track and overflow. Our team provides exemplary emergency room care for patients in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play an important role in supporting and integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will contribute your nursing assessment, interpersonal and written documentation skills to assist with the treatment of a variety of patients. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000.
