Job summary

Alberta Health Services in St. Albert seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Emergency department at Sturgeon Community Hospital. The role supports interprofessional care, using nursing processes and critical thinking to deliver patient- and family-centered services.

Required are an accredited LPN program, active registration with CLHA, and BCLS-HCP. ED experience within the last 2 years is preferred; strong English communication and teamwork are essential for this rotation-based, part-time

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in an Emergency Department within the last 2 years.
• Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with Connect Care, Netcare and PYXIS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of the English language.
• Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
