Job summary

TAPP Workforce Solutions is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for aeromedical transport across remote Northern Canada. The role involves two-week immersive assignments on high-acuity flights, followed by two weeks off, with all travel and accommodations arranged.

You will work with an Air Medical Crew alongside an Online Medical Control physician and pilots, benefiting from CAMATA Level 1 training and a structured mentorship culture.

Most nursing roles ask you to choose between meaningful work and a sustainable lifestyle. This one doesn't make you choose. You'll spend two weeks fully immersed in high-acuity aeromedical transport, supporting patients across Northern and remote Canadian communities as part of a tight, highly capable Air Medical Crew, then take two full weeks off to recover, travel, or just be home.

Every flight is paid and arranged for you. Every rotation comes with accommodation already sorted. And every day on shift, you're working alongside an Online Medical Control physician, fellow crew, and pilots who treat you as an essential part of the team, not an afterthought.

Leadership access is direct and immediate. You're never buried in a large hierarchy. You'll be flying alongside experienced clinical crew, backed by dedicated aeromedical training (CAMATA Level 1), a purpose-built simulation facility, and a mentorship culture that takes your development seriously. This is also a union role governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, so the stability, structure, and protections most contract or agency transport roles don't offer are built in from day one. The work itself carries real autonomy and real challenge in equal measure.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide direct patient care and monitoring during pre-flight and in-flight phases of aeromedical transport
• Support triage, stabilization, and safe transfer of patients alongside the Air Medical Crew
• Serve as the communication link between the aircraft, referring facilities, and Online Medical Control
• Coordinate closely with pilots, flight followers, and other crew to keep every transfer running smoothly
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation and patient records in line with privacy legislation
• Navigate real-time decisions around patient consent and confidentiality with sound clinical judgment
• Deliver culturally respectful, high-quality care in Indigenous and remote Northern communities

What We're Looking For

• Completion of an accredited diploma program in practical nursing
• Current registration in good standing as an LPN or RPN with your provincial/territorial regulatory college
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, including recent Emergency, Critical Care, or Intensive Care experience
• Comfortable performing duties aboard fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft (prior flight/transport experience is a plus, not required)
• Physically able to lift, load, and secure patients and equipmentComposed under pressure, adaptable to remote and changing conditions, and a strong communicator across discipline

Compensation & Work Model

Base salary $83,000–$88,750 (scaled by experience), with total annual compensation of approximately $112,000–$130,750 once per diem, paid travel days, and vacation/statutory holiday pay are included. Full-time, permanent, rotational schedule of two weeks on / two weeks off. Extended health, dental, and vision coverage, disability coverage, life and travel insurance, RRSP matching, and an employee share purchase program are also included.

Location & Travel

Rotations are based out of Cambridge Bay, Churchill, Iqaluit, Igloolik, Ottawa, Rankin Inlet, Thompson, Winnipeg, or Yellowknife. All commercial travel to and from rotation locations is arranged and paid for by the company, with accommodations provided while on rotation.
