Job summary

Government of Yukon is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Continuing Care facilities in Whitehorse, Yukon. The role focuses on resident-centered care within a supportive team, aligned with our care philosophy.

Eligible for LPN registration and current knowledge of nursing practices are required. A signing bonus of $4,500 applies with a 12‑month service agreement, and preference is given to Yukon First Nations ancestry. This is a full-time position in a caring, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

Recent applied knowledge and experience in medication administration in a clinical setting

Ability to operate across multiple levels of care and within a transdisciplinary environment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted:

TB screening, RCMP Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check, CPR Level C with AED, and Yukon LPN registration with Medication Administration upon hire.

Job requirements

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:

Shift work, exposure to plants and/or flowers and/or second-hand smoke when supervising residents/clients, exposure to animals, heavy lifting 50lbs and over, bending, and exposure to latex products.
