Alexander McDonald Lodge (AML) in Dawson City, YT is a 15-bed long-term care home that provides person-centered care to individuals who need varying levels of intermediate care support with daily living activities. Through responsiveness to each resident’s uniqueness, the Lodge creates a feeling of home and belonging for all who live there.
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and mature individuals who are committed to supporting the wellbeing and safety of our residents. In this role, you will be comfortable assisting with a variety of daily living activities, including light meal preparation. The ideal candidate is organized, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and understands the importance of confidentiality, privacy, and treating residents with dignity and respect. You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.
TB screening, RCMP Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check, CPR Level C with AED (within last 2.5 years), WHMIS 2015, and Food Safe Level1 (completed within the last 2 years)
Shift Work; Exposure to flowers and/or plants and/or second-hand smoke; Exposure to animals; Heavy lifting and bending; Exposure to latex products and other irritants; Exposure to weather while assisting residents outside; Lifting up to 50 lbs as part of resident care and transfers.
