Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Surgery unit at Sturgeon Community Hospital. This Regular Part Time, 0.72 FTE role involves direct patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting with shifts covering days, evenings, nights and weekends.

The successful candidate will have an accredited LPN education, active or eligible CLHA registration, BCLS-HCP certification and at least 2 years of recent surgical experience.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years recent surgical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with PCA maintenance and IV initiation is an asset.
