This position is for our Bow Valley facility in Canmore, Alberta.

Position Summary

Full Time / Temporary until August 2026 or return of the incumbent.

Shift: 1900-0715 HR

Schedule:

  1. Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun
  2. Week 2: Wed, Thurs
  3. Week 3: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun
  4. Week 4: Wed, Thurs

Under the direction of the Manager or Director of Care, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will use evidence-informed nursing knowledge, skill, and judgment to provide integrated and holistic nursing care, within the scope of practice appropriate to an LPN, to meet the physical, safety, emotional, and spiritual needs of clients and their families.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on care according to the Care Plan and policies.
  • Report changes in resident conditions promptly.
  • Assist in monitoring non-regulated staff, including supervision and support.
  • Maintain resident dignity, privacy, independence, spirituality, and individuality.
  • Perform duties safely, adhering to infection control policies.
  • Work within practice statements, competencies, and relevant legislation.
  • Participate in team meetings and training.
Qualifications
  • LPN Certificate, current registration with CLPNA.
  • Updated immunization record.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector Checks (within past 90 days).
  • Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certificates.
  • Experience with elderly or disabled persons, preferably in supportive living.
  • Palliative care experience is an asset.
  • Compassionate, respectful, and professional demeanor.
  • Good communication skills; French skills are an asset.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 55 pounds, standing, walking, and reaching.
