Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart in King City, Ontario is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with dispensing prescriptions, support pharmacy services, and help maintain daily operations in line with Standards of Practice.

You will perform data entry, assist with third party adjudication, counseling referrals to the pharmacist, and ensure accurate packaging and labeling of medications while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Registered with the corresponding provincial licensing college.
• Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.
• Effective organizational skills, ability to multitask.
• Problem Solving Skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet customers promptly and gather prescription information.
• Perform duties in priority according to Role assigned on Role Assignment Schedule.
• Refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Accurate dispensing of prescription medications.
• Adjudicate third party billing where required.
• Set realistic customer wait-time expectations.
• Locate and cash out prescriptions and ancillary items.
• Counsel when required and refer to the Pharmacist.
• Maintain and control the cash register in the dispensary.
• Adhere to confidentiality and privacy requirements.
