Job summary

Qualifications

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Reliability Security Clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on vehicles and mobile equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system issues.
  • Complete corrective maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and recommend effective repair solutions.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable quality assurance and safety requirements.
  • Support fleet readiness by maintaining equipment in an operational condition.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams, supervisors, and client representatives to meet operational objectives.
  • Participate in workplace safety programs and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Licensed Mechanical Technician to join their team. This is a full-time opportunity supporting the inspection, maintenance, repair, and servicing of military and commercial vehicle fleets and equipment. The successful candidate will bring strong diagnostic abilities, a commitment to quality workmanship, and experience working in regulated maintenance environments.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess one of the following:
  • Red Seal Certification; or
  • Provincial Journeyperson Certification; or
  • Military Equivalent Qualification
Applicable Trades Include
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic; or
  • Truck and Transport Mechanic; or
  • Automotive Service Technician; or
  • Other equivalent vehicle maintenance trades
Requirements
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Reliability Security Clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is considered an asset.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience maintaining military vehicles, commercial fleets, or heavy equipment.
  • Previous work in a defense, government, transportation, or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
