Position: Contractor, Integrated Project Team
Position Description
Under the guidance of a Team Leader and/or Subject Matter Expert perform one of the following IPT roles;
Provisioning/Parts Content Developer/Writer:
- Receive, organize, and document system specifications, engineering drawings, bill of materials, and vendor data
- Document the physical breakdown of the vehicle, assembly and/or subsystem(s) in accordance with applicable military standards and approved customer maintenance concept
- Document and maintain the parts data in the Logistics Support Analysis Record database
- Develop/write recommended repair parts catalogues as part of overall development of technical manuals for automotive/vehicle/turret systems and sub-systems of the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV)
Maintenance Engineering Content Developer/Writer:
- Analyze vehicle system functionality and identify probable failure modes that could impact system performance/safety
- Identify and recommend specials tools and test equipment that the customer may require in order to effectively support their vehicles
- Write clear, step-by-step maintenance instructions describing to soldiers how to remove, repair and replace vehicle system components and assemblies
- Develop/write procedures as part of overall development of technical manuals for automotive/vehicle/turret systems and sub-systems of the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV)
Diagnostics Engineering Content Developer/Writer:
- Analysis of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical system functionality to determine most efficient troubleshooting methodology (perform Fault Tree Analysis and/or Failure Mode Effect Analysis of system/component)
- Support development of fault insertion tools and non‑destructive faults for use in validation of troubleshooting procedures
- Develop/write procedures as part of overall development of technical manuals for automotive/vehicle/turret systems and sub-systems of the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV)
Support and/or potentially perform the following functions:
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and subcontractor data
- Generate accurate illustration requests to support procedure development
- Maintain the configuration and revision of the data in the database as well as all supporting documents
- Proactively support and communicate with other Engineering teams and departments
- Assist with aftermarket support requests
- Plan and track progress of assigned activities Attend fit-ups as required
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- University Degree or College Diploma in a technical discipline
- 0 to 3 years relevant experience
- Knowledge in the operation, maintenance and integration of vehicle components and systems
- Demonstrated high levels of written and oral communications skills, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient knowledge in the operation, maintenance and integration of GDLS-C LAV components and systems
- Experience with VisMockup (Team Center Visualization) and Arbortext or other XML editing software
- Experience with MIL-STD-1388 and Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) software
- Experience with MIL-STD-40051 and developing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)
