Job summary

Woodbine Entertainment in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair equipment across our horse racing and entertainment facilities. The role requires hands-on technical skills and strict adherence to safety standards.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, complete preventive maintenance, and prepare accurate repair reports. The position is full-time, on-site, with a probationary wage of $43.09/hour rising to $43.84/hour after

Qualifications

• Candidates must have Heavy Equipment Mechanic License. Proof of Provincial license is required from Truck and coach (310T)
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments with minimal supervision
• Ability to work with a team and independently
• Basic math skills
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Understanding of Schematics and diagrams
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience: 5 years (required)
• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Woodbine Entertainment Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner
• Customer centric with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and analytical with excellent relationship management
• Work with a sense of urgency and high standards to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated team player with high integrity and initiative
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract

Responsibilities

• Experienced in completing preventive maintenance scheduled repairs and completing repair orders.
• Basic computers skills and ability to refer to manuals for spare parts and diagnostics.
• Must be able operate heavy duty service vehicle.
• Must be willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Must be available to work occasional evenings & weekends.
• Able to lift 50lbs.
• Other duties assigned.
