Job summary

Woodbine Entertainment in Ontario is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair equipment, respond to breakdowns, and perform preventive maintenance.

You will operate a heavy service vehicle, work indoors and outdoors, with occasional evenings and weekends, and join a safety‑driven team requiring clear English communication and a valid 310T license.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
• Must hold a Heavy Equipment Mechanic License (310T).
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work safely and independently or in a team.
• Good written and verbal English communication.

In doing so, we remain a world-leader in horse-racing — and also among the most exciting and diverse entertainment facilities on the globe.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Effective troubleshooting and repair of all equipment• Respond to equipment breakdown calls.• Highly safety conscious with basic knowledge of cutting, welding and fabrication• Provide recommendations for continual improvements and maximize efficiencies.• Maintain a safe work environment, complying with the Company's Health & Safety guidelines.• Have experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs.• Experienced in completing preventive maintenance scheduled repairs and completing repair orders.• Basic computers skills and ability to refer to manuals for spare parts and diagnostics.• Must be able operate heavy duty service vehicle.• Must be willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors.• Must be available to work occasional evenings & weekends.• Able to lift 50lbs.• Other duties assigned.QUALIFICATIONS/TECHNICIAL KNOWLEDGE• Candidates must have their Heavy Equipment Mechanic License.
