Job summary

Woodbine Entertainment is accepting applications for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Milton, Ontario facility. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment, and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on racing and support equipment.

The role requires a valid 310T Heavy Equipment Mechanic License, at least 5 years of hands-on experience, strong safety practices, and the ability to work indoors and outdoors, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have Heavy Equipment Mechanic License (310T).
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments with minimal supervision.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication in English.
• Understanding of schematics and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Effective troubleshooting and repair of all equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdown calls.
• Provide recommendations for continual improvements and maximize efficiencies.
• Maintain a safe work environment per Health & Safety guidelines.
• Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Prepare accurate service and repair reports promptly.
• Operate heavy-duty service vehicle as needed.
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors; some evenings and weekends.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Effective troubleshooting and repair of all equipment
• Respond to equipment breakdown calls.
• Highly safety conscious with basic knowledge of cutting, welding and fabrication
• Provide recommendations for continual improvements and maximize efficiencies.
• Maintain a safe work environment, complying with the Company's Health & Safety guidelines.
• Have experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs.
• Experienced in completing preventive maintenance scheduled repairs and completing repair orders.
• Basic computers skills and ability to refer to manuals for spare parts and diagnostics.
• Must be able operate heavy duty service vehicle.
• Must be willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Must be available to work occasional evenings & weekends.
• Able to lift 50lbs.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications/Technicial Knowledge

• Candidates must have their Heavy Equipment Mechanic License. Proof of Provincial license is required from Truck and coach (310T)
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with a team and independently.
• Basic math skills
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Understanding of Schematics and diagrams.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience: 5 years (required)

• Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.

• Self-motivated team player with high integrity and initiative
• A valid Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract

Pay:

$43.09/hour during probationary period and $43.84 after probation
