Job summary

Alaska Avenue Dental in Fort St. John, BC, is hiring a Dental Assistant for maternity leave coverage through October 2027. The role involves preparing treatment rooms, assisting dentists and hygienists, and maintaining patient comfort and workflow.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or certified dental assistant with provincial regulatory body
• Experience as dental assistant preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour

Schedule:

Monday to Friday | 7:40am 5:15pm (paid set up &clean up time), 1 hour lunch break. * Please note this is for a maternity leave coverage until October 2027.
