Job summary

Porsche Centre Richmond is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Automotive Technician to join our team. You will receive repair orders, perform work to factory standards, and liaise with parts to complete repairs efficiently.

We value strong diagnostic skills, problem-solving, and a commitment to high-quality work. A BC driver’s license is required and a safety-focused, team-oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be a fully licensed Technician.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in electrical diagnosis and repairs.
  • Possess strong problem-solving abilities to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work with team.
  • Valid British Columbia driver’s license and ability to provide driving abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Receive repair orders and perform work as outlined with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure work complies with dealership and factory standards.
  • Coordinate with parts to obtain needed components and tag parts for warranty.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify additional safety or service needs.
  • Inform Service Advisor if more work is required or if repairs cannot be completed on time.
  • Communicate job status to dispatcher, prioritizing rush and customer-waiting vehicles.
  • Document work performed and road-test vehicles to verify quality.
  • Supervise Apprentice technicians as assigned.
  • Attend factory-sponsored training and stay current with technical bulletins.
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop, following Porsche Centre Richmond guidelines.
  • Comply with federal, provincial and municipal regulations on hazardous waste disposal.
  • Assist in creating quotes for additional work.
  • Keep up to date with online training as required.
  • Follow safety policies and report accidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; company reserves right to modify description.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Receive repair orders from dispatch tower/Service Advisor and perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.

  • Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.

  • Advise Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.

  • Inform dispatcher when a job is started, finished, or interrupted. Be particularly attentive to repair orders on vehicles marked “RUSH” or “CUSTOMER WAITING”.

  • Complete and maintain documentation of work performed.

  • Road-test vehicles to quality-check work performed.

  • Supervise the work of any Apprentice technicians as assigned to you by management.

  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes. Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.

  • Ensure that customers’ cars are kept clean.

  • Keep the shop area neat, clean, and free of safety hazards, and follow all of Porsche Centre Richmond’s cleanliness guidelines.

  • Comply with Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

  • Assist in creating quotes for additional work required.

  • Keep up to date on online training as required

  • Follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately, report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.

  • This position will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Must be a fully licensed Technician.

  • Working knowledge of automotive equipment, strong diagnostic skills, and proficiency in electrical diagnosis and repairs.

  • Possess strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in order to maintain optimal customer satisfaction.

  • A highly self-motivated and organized individual.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively work with other members of the Service Department team.

  • Must be committed to consistently delivering high-quality work.

  • Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

  • A valid British Columbia driver’s license, and the ability to provide drivers abstract for review.
