Richmond Christian School is seeking a part-time Library Technician at our Secondary Campus.

About You

The ideal candidate for the Library Technician position at Richmond Christian School (RCS) embodies both the technical skills required for the role and the values central to the school’s mission and culture. You are a detail-oriented professional who has ideally worked in an educational setting. You have experience or training in cataloging, organizing, and maintaining library resources—including books, digital materials, and periodicals—and are proficient with library management systems and educational technology. Lastly, being a strong team player with excellent communication skills will set you apart, as you will be interacting with students and staff.

About the Position

The Library Technician supports the effective operation of the school library by assisting students and staff in locating resources, managing library materials, and maintaining a welcoming learning environment. The ideal candidate is organized, student-focused, and comfortable using library and educational technology. Most importantly, you are committed to Christian Education and help to deepen students’ understanding of a Biblical worldview and relationship with God.

This is a part-time position located at our Secondary Capus – 10260 Number 5 Road, Richmond, BC.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Catalog and organize library materials (books, digital resources, periodicals)
• Assist students and staff with locating and borrowing resources
• Operate and maintain library technology (computers, printers, databases)
• Process new materials and manage library records
• Shelve returned items and maintain inventory

Education and Experience

• Experience working in a library and/or educational environment preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with library management systems and basic technology
• Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff
• Relevant certificate or diploma in library and information technology is an asset
