Geological Technician

The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Geological Technician to work in a camp-based environment rotating on a two week in/two week out shift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Complete geotechnical logging of oriented diamond drill core;
• Maintain core logging data in database;
• Sample and cut diamond drill core (fit-tested respirator required);
• Track and catalogue drill core and samples;
• Manage core sample shipments;
• Perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment, and perform all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures;
• Assist geologists as required.
  
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Fundamental geologic knowledge considered an asset;
• Post-Secondary Education in geosciences considered an asset;
• Core logging and cutting experience considered an asset;
• Experience working with oriented core considered an asset;
• Valid driver's license;
• Able to lift core boxes weighing up to 60 pounds;
• Physically fit to perform the duties of the position
• Training provided.
  
  

Additional Information: Willing to work a two week on/off schedule, working 12 hours per day at a remote mine camp. Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
