Job summary

Brock University seeks a Library Assistant, Resource Sharing & Reference to join the Library team in Ontario. You will process borrowing and lending requests, assist users at the Ask Us Desk, and provide in-depth reference support to students and staff.

The role involves ticketing ILL requests, managing catalog searches, and supporting the library’s OCUL chat service and email inquiries. A Library Technician Diploma is preferred, with strong customer service skills expected.

Qualifications

• Library Technician Diploma preferred.
• Experience with interlibrary loan and resource sharing systems is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Library of Congress, Music, and Government Documents classification systems.

Responsibilities

• Process borrowing and lending requests using the ILS system per procedures.
• Provide circulation, copying/printing, and desk reference assistance.
• Assist with OCUL virtual reference chat service and library email inquiries.
