Smiles on 5 in Waterdown, Ontario seeks a dedicated Level II Dental Assistant (NDAEB certified) to join our clinical team. You will assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures and help maintain a welcoming, patient-centered practice.

The ideal candidate will have HARP certification, familiarity with dental software, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment. This full-time role offers a signing bonus and a collaborative, growth-oriented team.

Qualifications

• HARP Certification is required.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and instruments.
• Experience with orthodontics or pediatrics is a plus.
• Familiar with dental software such as LiveDDM, Dentrix, Tracker, Abeldent or Paradigm.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments and clinical procedures.
• Prepare, organize and set up trays, instruments and materials before procedures.
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) per regulations.
• Provide chairside support including suctioning and passing instruments.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness per IPAC standards.
• Document patient care in the practice management system.
• Assist with impressions, whitening and other Level II duties as permitted.
• Maintain inventory and report stock needs to the lead
• Support smooth patient flow with the dental team

• Role Hours: Monday & Thursday from 8:00 am - 5:30 pm
  Tuesday 8:00am-7:00 pm
  Wednesday 8:00 am- 8:00pm
  Friday 8:00 am- 12:00 pm
  Saturday 8:00 am- 1:30pm.

This schedule alternates: you work both Friday and Saturday one week, then have both days off the following week.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and a variety of clinical procedures.
• Prepare, organize, and set up trays, instruments, and materials prior to procedures.
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with HARP regulations.
• Provide chairside support including suctioning, passing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-operative instructions.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain clinical operatory cleanliness according to infection control and IPAC standards.
• Document patient care in the practice management system accurately and promptly.
• Assist with impressions, whitening procedures, and other Level II duties as permitted.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and report stock needs to the clinical lead or dentist.
• Support a smooth and efficient patient flow throughout the day by collaborating closely with the dental team.

Qualifications

• HARP Certification (required).
• Knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and dental instruments/equipment.
• Experience with orthodontics or pediatric dentistry is an asset.
• Familiarity with dental software such as LiveDDM, Dentrix, Tracker, Abeldent, or Paradigm is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality care.
