Job summary

Canada Post in Shawinigan, QC is seeking a temporary, on-call Letter Carrier to join our delivery team. You will be the face of Canada Post in your community, delivering mail and parcels by foot or by vehicle on your route, starting your day at the depot and finishing at the depot with the day’s deliveries.

The role requires outdoor work in all weather, a valid driver’s licence, the ability to lift heavy items, and the flexibility to be on-call.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7kg (50lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9kg (35lb) regularly throughout the day.
• The ability to work in all types of weather
• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare deliveries at the depot each day.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and parcels on the route by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload and prepare for the next day

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

• You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
• You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

• You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery
