Job summary

Canada Post is hiring a temporary, on-call Letter Carrier in Repentigny, QC. You will be the face of Canada Post, delivering mail and parcels to customers and businesses in your community.

This role requires outdoor work year-round and a valid driver’s license along with English and/or French language skills. The position offers an opportunity to grow within a national company and may lead to permanent employment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.
  • Experience in customer service is an asset.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • On-call availability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Start your day in the depot sorting and preparing deliveries.
  • Load and drive a Canada Post vehicle.
  • Deliver mail and packages on your route, by foot or by vehicle.
  • Return to the depot to unload and prepare for the next day.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

  • You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
  • You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

  • You’ll then spend most of your day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route
  • You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery
Qualifications

What must you have?

  • A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3years (driver's abstract required)
  • The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7kg (50lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9kg (35lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The ability to work in all types of weather
  • The availability to be on-call
  • The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
