Job summary

Canada Post in Saint-Eustache, QC is seeking a temporary on-call Letter Carrier to deliver mail and parcels. You will start at the depot, sort items, load a postal vehicle, and spend much of the day out on your route serving customers.

This role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to lift 50 lb, and the stamina to work in all weather. English or French essential (either/OR); on-call availability with potential for permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class5 or ClassG driver's license with a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
• Physical ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be available on-call and able to read/write in English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare deliveries at the depot.
• Load and drive a Canada Post vehicle.
• Deliver mail and parcels on route by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload and prepare for next day.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

• You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
• You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

• You’ll then spend most of your day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route
• You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery

Qualifications

What must you have?

• A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3years (driver's abstract required)
• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7kg (50lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9kg (35lb) regularly throughout the day
• The ability to work in all types of weather
• The availability to be on-call
• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
