Job summary

Canada Post is an exciting place to work. As a temporary, on-call delivery agent, you’ll be the face of Canada Post in your community, delivering mail and parcels to customers and businesses. You’ll start in the depot, sort items, then drive or walk your route to complete deliveries for the day.

Ideal candidates enjoy being outdoors, value a national employer, and are ready to serve fellow Canadians with reliability. English essential; on-call opportunities may lead to permanent roles.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's licence with 3+ years safe driving; driver’s abstract required.
• Able to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• Work in all kinds of weather and environments.
• On-call availability.
• Read, write and speak English and/or French.
• Experience in customer service.
• Experience delivering or working as a driver.

Responsibilities

• Start the day in the depot, sorting and preparing deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Spend most of the day outside delivering mail and packages by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload the day's mail and packages for later delivery.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

• You'll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day's deliveries


• You'll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

Qualifications

What must you have?

• A valid Class 5 or Class G driver's licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required)


• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day


• The ability to work in all types of weather


• The availability to be on-call


• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
