Job summary

Canada Post is seeking an on-call temporary Delivery Agent in Edmonton, Alberta. You will start in the depot, sort and prepare deliveries, then drive a Canada Post vehicle to deliver mail and parcels to customers on your route.

The role requires the ability to work outdoors year-round, a valid driver’s licence, and the capacity to lift heavy items. English and/or French literacy is required. Pay is hourly with opportunities for permanent positions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for 3+ years.
• Physical ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.

Responsibilities

• Start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to customers on your route.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery.

What will you do?

• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
• The ability to work in all types of weather
• The availability to be on-call
• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
