The role requires a law degree, Barreau du Québec membership, 5+ years of experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Holds a university degree in law and is a member of the Barreau du Québec.
  • Five or more years of relevant legal experience.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and the ability to turn complex legal matters into practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to partners across various business areas.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory analyses, particularly in insurance and consumer protection, and provide clear recommendations aligned with business needs.
  • Support the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of products and services, particularly insurance products and warranties.
  • Collaborate with business and multidisciplinary teams, as well as Compliance and Risk Management.
  • Actively participate in working groups and industry committees.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and organizational transformation initiatives.

  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to partners across various business areas

What could accelerate your success in this role

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a university degree in law and is a member of the Barreau du Québec
  • Has five or more years of relevant legal experience
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and the ability to turn complex legal matters into practical solutions
  • Shows intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and sound judgment
  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
  • Takes a collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented approach while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Ideally has experience in commercial and contract law, as well as knowledge of insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry
  • Has an intermediate level of English proficiency, as the role requires frequent oral and written communication with the Dealer Services network across Canada and collaboration with unilingual English-speaking colleagues primarily located in Western Canada
