The Armour Group Limited is one of the leading hospitality, development, and construction companies in Atlantic Canada. With more than 50 years of history, this family‑owned firm continues its proud history of creating a sense of place in Nova Scotia, carefully designing, developing, constructing and operating some of our region’s most iconic buildings and businesses, including Muir Hotel, Queen’s Marque District, Delta Hotels by Marriott Dartmouth, Freehand Hospitality, Historic Properties, Westway and Park Place corporate campuses and Kings Grove. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will provide strategic support and advice to the company on a wide range of legal matters. The successful candidate will be capable of working in a broad, fast‑paced legal role that requires engagement across all operational teams. They will have the opportunity to practice in a collaborative environment as part of a strong and well‑integrated legal team, taking on interesting and varied legal work.

As the Legal Counsel, your work will include:
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial leases.
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting contracts and other agreements.
  • Providing guidance and advice on a variety of subjects, including corporate, employment, regulatory, litigation and legal disputes, due diligence, insurance claims, legal and administrative processes and procedures, and other matters as they may arise.

  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements, applying sound judgment.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven track record of problem‑solving skills, informed decision‑making and good judgment.
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, embracing new challenges and taking initiative.
  • Adaptable, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong customer focus with dedication to teamwork and collaboration.
