Position Overview

Responsible for providing administrative support to the real estate and development law legal team including file and email management, document preparation, invoice processing, scheduling, and ensuring files are managed and deadlines are met through coordination of work responsibilities with legal counsel and law clerks. Provides administrative assistance and reception duties to the legal department, as required.

Qualifications and Experience
  1. Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or suitable equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a legal assistant, with experience in a real estate and development planning law legal environment preferred.
  3. Performs legal assistant functions and provides administrative support to legal counsel including but not limited to: drafting and preparation of legal documentation materials such as memoranda, correspondence, notices, completing corporate and other searches, managing deadlines and workflows, and performing other duties as required.
  4. Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  5. Strong analytical, research and diligent problem-solving abilities.
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  7. Ability to multi-task effectively while contending with conflicting demands and timelines.
  8. Proficient keyboarding and computer skills, including advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications.
  9. Possesses a valid Ontario ‘G’ Driver’s License in good standing, with access to a reliable vehicle for corporate use.
  10. Ability to work outside normal business hours, as required.
