A leading litigation boutique in downtown Toronto is seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Assistant to join their high-performing team. About the Role

This full-time position supports a 3:1 workshare—typically a Partner and one or more Associates—and is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic legal setting. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial litigation experience, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to embrace new technologies and processes. The role offers a hybrid work model with three days in office per week, depending on the candidate’s level of experience and adaptability. Legal Assistants here are not just support—they are essential to the firm’s success. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accuracy, catching errors before they reach clients or the courts, and helping lawyers shine by keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Drafting, formatting, and managing legal documents and correspondence
  • Filing and serving court documents, including through CaseCentre
  • Managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel
  • Supporting trial preparation, including compiling briefs and exhibits
  • Handling time entry, billing, and expense tracking
  • Maintaining organized electronic and physical filing systems
  • Assisting with client intake and ongoing communications
  • Using Adobe and other legal tech tools to streamline workflows

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a strong background in commercial litigation
  • Proficiency with CaseCentre, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy—your work helps prevent mistakes, not create them
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • A proactive, tech-savvy mindset and eagerness to learn and grow
  • Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism
