As The Lease Accountant you’re responsible for ensuring the leases of all Dollar Tree Canada stores are executed according to the lease agreements, assist in the monthly period-end close process, and support the operations of the Finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Period-end functions – prepare and upload journal entries, expense analysis, account reconciliations
  • Initiating the setup and maintenance of landlords in Lawson AP
  • Review lease agreements to ensure disbursements and landlord reconciliation adjustments align with the clauses
  • Execute initial rent payment for all renewals and new lease agreements
  • AR Set-up and collection of tenant allowances
  • Prepare budgets
  • Process invoices in Lawson AP as required
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications / Core Competencies:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounting or equivalent
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel and ERP applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and methodical
