Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Learning & Talent Development Specialist to support employee growth, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness across a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Learning & Development or Organizational Development.
  • Post-secondary education in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or Adult Education.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite and E-Learning tools (Articulate 360).
  • Travel 10–15% is required.
  • French language is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Design or source end‑to‑end learning solutions aligned with stakeholder and company needs (e‑learning, videos, slides, job aids).
  • Facilitate soft-skill workshops for individual contributors and managers, in‑person or virtual.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify development needs and create relevant content.
  • Manage the LMS (Workday Learning): assign training, build learning paths, pull reports.
  • Evaluate initiatives via feedback and analytics; recommend improvements.
  • Support engagement surveys, develop action plans, and lead steering committees.
  • Coordinate all L&D programs, materials, travel, and evening activities.
  • Partner with functions to build job-specific training plans and onboarding enhancements.
  • Contribute to wellness initiatives and ongoing program development.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Talent Development, the Learning & Talent Development Specialist plays a critical role in supporting employee growth, building leadership capability, and maximizing organizational effectiveness. Working collaboratively with business leaders, HR partners, and subject-matter experts, this role helps identify development needs and translate them into practical, engaging learning solutions aligned with strategic business priorities.

The Learning & Talent Development Specialist contributes to a broad portfolio of programs, including onboarding, leadership and soft-skills development, learning technology, recent graduate programs, career pathing, and designing role-specific training. This role combines instructional design, facilitation, program coordination, stakeholder partnership, and data analysis to deliver accessible and impactful learning experiences across a geographically dispersed workforce.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the design or sourcing of end-to-end learning solutions and training content in alignment with stakeholder or company needs. This may include e-learning, videos, PowerPoint presentations, job aids, facilitator guides, and other forms of digital content.
  • Facilitate various soft-skill workshops and internal development programs, including those intended for individual contributors and managers; both virtually and in-person.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand development needs and sources or designs relevant content to address gaps.
  • Manage activity within the company’s LMS (Workday Learning), including assigning training, building learning paths, pulling reports, and seeking opportunities for system improvement.
  • Evaluates learning initiatives through participant feedback, learning analytics, and stakeholder input, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support the launch of Company Engagement Surveys and partner with stakeholders to deliver results, develop action plans, lead steering committees, and facilitate conversations with leaders.
  • Support the coordination and execution of all L&D programs, including organizing necessary materials, managing facility support, coordinating participant travel, and planning evening activities.
  • Partner with various functions (corporate and operations) to build job-specific training plans and career paths.
  • Support the ongoing development of the company’s onboarding program, including recommending enhancements and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage the build of employee wellness initiatives, including wellness and mental health programs.
  • Performs cross-functional activities and/or other duties, as required.
Skills & Attributes
  • Friendly, approachable, and strong relationship building skills.
  • The desire to support employees and leaders in achieving their development goals
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously to meet timelines.
  • Considerable experience in designing, developing, sourcing, and/or delivering a variety of training courses and programs to diverse audiences (individual contributors, leaders, new grads).
  • Experience in developing career paths and providing employee development support.
  • Experience with coaching, consulting, and facilitation.
  • Ability to support and lead change.
  • Confidence in working with new technology and learning new software.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 yearsof experience in Learning & Development or Organizational Development.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Adult Education, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), and E-Learning Authoring Tools (Articulate 360).
  • Experience in Manufacturing is an asset.
  • Training certifications are an asset (CTDP, CTP).
  • Travel is required (10-15%)
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
