Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Electrical Engineer/Technologist to join our Corporate Engineering team. This role is pivotal in supporting multiple manufacturing plants by enhancing production efficiency, upgrading legacy systems, and driving automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in electrical design, PLC programming, and project management, along with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and innovation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with different plants to overcome production problems and improve safety systems.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop and own electrical equipment design that meets internal standards and user requirement specifications.
  • Provide complete electrical assistance, including troubleshooting, project engineering, and project management to plants.
  • Update existing legacy technologies to current standards when required.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies to provide relevant electrical design solutions.
  • Program automation and control systems, improve existing PLC programs (including servo drives and A/C drives) to help manufacturing efficiency.
  • Lead electrical project management, including scheduling, financial oversight, and contractor management.
  • Design, test, and commission new systems and modify existing equipment configurations.
  • Estimate labor‑hours, plan work, schedule, coordinate, and report on project progress.
  • Act as the corporate resource for automation system developments and implementations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology diploma.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Experienced in PLC and HMI systems design, programming, commissioning, and start‑up, including system hardware selection, I/O panel and subsystem layout and wiring.
  • Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming (preferred).
  • Experience with Siemens programming is an asset.
  • Knowledge of industrial Ethernet networks and communication standards.
  • Knowledge of control and distribution panels, switchgear, and MCCs.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, problem‑solving, research, and teamwork skills.
  • Computer skills – AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Organizational skills – managing projects.
  • Some travel to various sites in North America will be required.
