Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a Senior Corporate Process Engineer to join our team of professionals. The role focuses on delivering process engineering services for optimization and continuous improvement across facilities. You will lead design and execution on capital projects and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements include a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree, 7–15 years in process engineering, P.Eng., and English proficiency. Travel across Canada and the United States is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7 to 15 years of relevant work experience as a Process Engineer.
  • P.Eng. is a requirement.
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook proficiency.
  • Ability to travel across Canada and the United States.
  • Six Sigma certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and TSSA rules and regulations is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the process engineering design and execution on medium to large capital projects.
  • Review process engineering deliverables (PFDs, mass and energy balances, theory of operations, P&IDs) prepared by junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Carry out process optimization studies of industrial plants, with a focus on asphalt, thermal oil systems, and ISO/TPO plants.
  • Consult and negotiate with plant engineers to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings.
  • Work alongside other engineers in capital investment projects.
  • Create, modify, and execute functional test plans of automated systems.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, helping them navigate technical challenges and grow their expertise within the team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
  • P.Eng. is a requirement
  • Six Sigma certification is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage short and long-term projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (must be fluent in English)
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Must have excellent planning and time management skills
  • Must be able to travel across Canada and the United States
