Who you are

You are a dynamic learning and development professional who blends creativity with a passion for operational excellence. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you can design meaningful learning experiences and training curriculum, as well as administer effective systems that scale. You're inspired by the opportunity to help clinical and non-clinical professionals be the best they can be—and support one of Canada’s fastest-growing and most innovative healthcare organizations.

This position is based out of Dentalcorp's Support Centre in Toronto at 181 Bay Street, with a schedule of Mondays through Thursdays in-office and Fridays remote. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Organizational Development, you will support both learning design and content development and manage the execution, coordination, and maintenance of our learning programs and systems. You’ll collaborate across departments, including Clinical Education, Talent, HR, and other operational teams, to ensure seamless execution and continual improvement of learning experiences through innovative content, tools, systems, and reporting.

This role requires the ability to switch between strategic planning and detailed execution—designing curriculum in the morning and optimizing dashboards in the afternoon. It involves managing multiple projects, balancing analytical thinking with practical application, employing an iterative process, prioritizing tasks, and adapting swiftly to shifting priorities to meet organizational needs at local and national levels. You are driven by excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement, eager to contribute to one of Canada’s Best Managed companies.

As a Learning and Development Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

Learning Experience and Design

  • Design, develop, and implement innovative learning and talent programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences across various modalities (e-learning, virtual, instructor-led, OJT, etc.).
  • Lead the intake process for training projects, ensuring clear understanding of requirements and alignment of resources and timelines. Facilitate training sessions as needed.
  • Create mock-ups, scripts, or storyboards for learning materials, including videos, e-learning modules, articles, and job aids.
  • Utilize tools like Articulate, Captivate, and Adobe Creative Suite to produce compelling content.
  • Support program evaluation and continuous improvement, leveraging learner feedback and analytics.

Stakeholder Relationships & Engagement

  • Act as a learning ambassador, providing excellent service to internal learners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Communications and stakeholder groups to draft communications and engagement initiatives that promote our learning culture.
  • Work with HR Business Partners and COEs to ensure alignment and impact of learning initiatives.
  • Understand stakeholder needs and develop tailored learning solutions.
  • Encourage learner engagement and promote adoption of learning systems and tools.

Learning Systems & Program Coordination

  • Coordinate and execute various training projects, from workshops to large initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of LMS platforms, contributing to system efficiency and user experience.
  • Assist with content creation, course building, and curriculum management in the LMS.
  • Maintain digital learning systems, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with vendors.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations and monitor vendor performance.
  • Organize logistics for learning events and manage post-program follow-up, reporting, and CE certificates.
  • Provide data insights through regular reporting on program metrics.

Capability & Continuous Improvements

  • Update and maintain program materials in line with brand standards.
  • Drive process improvements in digital and in-person learning delivery.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to align learning initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Track and report training activities, using data to improve programs.
  • Prepare reports and analytics to demonstrate impact and inform strategic decisions.
  • Promote greater utilization and engagement with learning programs and platforms.

What we're looking for

  • Post-secondary education in Adult Learning, Education, Communications, Organizational Development, HR, Psychology, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in learning design, HR or Operations program management, training facilitation, or systems administration.
  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.
  • Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proactive, service-oriented mindset with a passion for learner success.
  • Excellent communication skills, including engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong vendor management experience.
  • Experience with visual design tools (Photoshop, Canva) is a plus.
  • Creative problem-solving, innovative thinking, and the ability to reimagine work processes.
  • Highly organized, reliable, self-motivated, with multitasking abilities.
  • Adaptability and a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Comfort working with technology and learning new software.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset.
