Job summary

Shawenim-Abinoojii in Winnipeg is seeking a Learning & Development Supervisor to design and deliver training programs. You will report to the Director of Human Resources, assisting employees in developing skills aligned with organizational goals.

OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, thetrainer is responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating trainingprograms that assist employees develop the knowledge, skills and competenciesneeded to perform effectively while aligning with organizational goals.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct training sessions,workshops, and seminars for employees and caregivers.
  • Assess training needsthrough surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop, update, andcustomize training materials, manuals, presentations, and learning activities.
  • Prepare lesson plans andtraining schedules.
  • Evaluate participants'learning through quizzes, and practical exercises.
  • Monitor trainee progressand provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
  • Identify training needs for new and existingemployees.
  • Identify knowledge andskill gaps and recommend additional learning opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate trainingrecords, attendance, and certification documentation.
  • Ensure training programscomply with organizational policies and safety standards.
  • Support employee onboardingand orientation programs.
  • Collaborate withsupervisors and executive management to develop relevant training content.
  • Measure trainingeffectiveness using feedback, performance metrics, and post-trainingevaluations.
  • Continuously improvetraining materials and delivery methods based on participant feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certifications intraining and development.
  • 1-3 years trainingexperience.
  • Strong presentationand facilitation skills.
  • Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills.
  • Coaching and mentoringabilities.
  • Public speaking andaudience engagement.
  • Time management andorganization.
  • Problem-solving andadaptability.
  • Evaluation andreporting skills.
  • Required to workflexible hours and ability to travel as required.
  • Strong interpersonalskills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a highattention to detail.
  • Must provide clearcriminal records check, adult and child abuse checks.
  • Demonstrate knowledgeand/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture andtraditional philosophies.
  • Strong proficiency inMicrosoft Office, MS Word, Spreadsheets (Excel), PowerPoint, E-mail(Outlook) and Internet.
