Job summary

SGS – Streamline Control Solutions, part of SGS, is seeking a Leak Detection Advisor to support CPM advisory services for oil and gas pipelines across western Canada. You will contribute to assessments, tuning, testing, and monitoring of leak detection systems, building a foundation to lead engagements as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in oil and gas pipeline operations, SCADA, OT infrastructure, or related technical discipline.
• Foundational understanding of pipeline operations and control centre environments.
• Familiarity with CPM leak detection methods (CVB, RTM, or statistical) and CSA Z662 awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in CPM leak detection system assessments against CSA Z662 Annex E, API 1130, and API 1149 requirements.
• Help with threshold calculation packages and false alarm rate analysis across pipeline segments.
• Support monitoring, alarm analysis, data quality checks, and client recommendations; document findings.
