Building Services Engineering Recruiter | Director at Revel

The Structural Leader oversees the engineering team, project portfolio, and operations of the structural practice. This includes all services and personnel, including hiring, developing, retaining, and growing the team. This includes working with clients to deliver at a high standard to grow and maintain the book of business. The structural leader oversees budgets and P&L, strategy, and reporting. This position provides hands-on, technical leadership in addition to overseeing the structural engineering practice.

The Structural Leader should have a strong background in developing structural solutions inside the built environment. The majority of the project portfolio is renovation projects, including parking garages, signage, balconies, petrochemical canopies, industrial buildings (complete design), commercial add-ons, and support systems. Creativity to lead projects and teams to adapt existing buildings and find novel solutions that meet client needs is critical.

The company is an international multidisciplinary firm specialized in building services engineering with over 1000 employees globally. Well-established and growing quickly in the GTA, this role is oriented to the growth-oriented structural leader with 10-20 years of experience.

Logistics: Hybrid in Mississauga

Salary: $140,000 to $160,000+

Here's what you'll be doing:

1. Responsible for the performance of the Structural Engineering group.
2. Oversees daily operations of the Engineering group and manages employees.
3. Assists in the hiring of new staff, retention, and development.
4. Coaches and manages performance of employees.
5. Interacts with the office director and senior leadership to support staff development and provide feedback on employee performance.
6. Completes assignments in Practice Leader’s field of expertise.
7. Reviews and ensures that deliverables meet company standards.
8. Assists in business development to grow the practice area and build relationships with existing and future clients.
9. Develops the business plan for the continued growth.
10. Works with senior leadership to prepare budgets and review financials.
11. Resolves issues that are presented by our clients in a quick and satisfactory manner.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll need:

1. Relevant degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
3. 10-20 years of related experience in structural engineering for buildings with an emphasis on retrofits, existing buildings, and other special projects.
4. Subject matter expertise in local building codes.
5. Experience with client management.
