The Lead Civil/Structural Engineer will lead site and structural design efforts for mission-critical data center facilities. This role will ensure all civil and structural systems are designed to meet performance, safety, and code requirements while supporting fast-track project execution and coordination with cross-functional engineering teams.
DAY TO DAY
- Develop site plans including grading, drainage, roadways, and access routes
- Design structural systems for data center buildings (steel, concrete, precast framing)
- Engineer foundations, slabs-on-grade, and seismic/wind load systems
- Coordinate routing of water, sewer, storm, and electrical utilities
- Design structural supports for mission-critical equipment (generators, UPS, chillers, etc.)
- Prepare structural drawings, details, and technical specifications
- Support Supply Chain Management (SCM) and prefabrication teams
- Participate in vendor design reviews and coordination meetings
- Travel regularly to the United States for project support
MUST HAVES
- Based in Montreal, Canada or surrounding areas. Hybrid schedule - 3 days/week in the office
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
- 5–12 years of building design experience (industrial or mission-critical preferred)
- Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and relevant local building codes
- Experience designing foundations and structural systems for commercial/industrial facilities
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, or similar design tools
- Experience working in fast-track design-build environments
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
