THE JOB

Join us as a Lead Engineer (Android)! This role involves coding and collaboration to maintain and grow our SDKs, embedded in over 500 client apps globally, including some of the top apps on app stores. You will envision technical solutions for further globalizing and expanding our SDK. It’s a great opportunity to enhance your technical skills and deliver impactful products for millions of fans.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  1. Design and implement features for an SDK used by millions of fans worldwide.
  2. Write, test, and instrument code for mobile apps to deliver high-quality, scalable features.
  3. Participate in the entire development lifecycle, from idea to release.
  4. Build optimized mobile interfaces with proper instrumentation for performance.
  5. Contribute to engineering innovation, improving scalability and reliability.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into user-friendly mobile experiences.
  7. Drive impactful contributions seen by millions, enhancing user experience.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

  1. 5-6+ years of professional software development experience.
  2. 5+ years in native Android development with a strong understanding of full-stack development, app performance, and architecture.
  3. Experience with agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
  4. Extensive experience with Kotlin or Java for building robust, mission-critical systems.
  5. Practical experience with Jetpack Compose and modern UI development.
  6. Proficiency in Kotlin Coroutines, StateFlow, and SharedFlow for asynchronous programming.
  7. Hands-on experience with Hilt/Dagger for scalable architecture.
  8. Expertise in MVVM, MVI, or similar patterns.
  9. Experience designing solutions with significant business impact.
  10. Understanding of system interactions within production environments.
  11. Exposure to React Native is a plus.
  12. Ability to learn new languages, platforms, and tools.
  13. Experience owning projects from conception to production.
  14. Mentoring junior engineers experience.

NICE TO HAVE (or ADDITIONAL SKILLS)

  1. Proven ability to lead a team through the full software development lifecycle.
  2. Experience with Infrastructure, Databases, Data Processing, Machine Learning, Distributed Systems, Security, or Privacy.

YOU (BEHAVIORAL SKILLS)

  1. Ability to meet commitments and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  2. A great team player with a positive attitude.
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects, negotiate with stakeholders, and deliver realistically.
  4. Experience building high-performance services or applications; performance tuning at scale is valuable.

The expected salary range is $130,000 - $170,000 CAD. Pay depends on market, qualifications, skills, and experience.
