Lead Software Engineer Job Summary:

The company is currently looking to hire an AWS Cloud Engineer within our Domestic Payables division. This position is remote-based and falls under our Payables line of business. We seek an experienced Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Engineer with expertise in strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale cloud projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, with the ability to customize them to enhance our security and efficiency. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, staff management experience, and advanced industry knowledge are essential for keeping us at the forefront. The Cloud Engineer will significantly impact daily IT operations and support our growth.

• As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will work remotely. The company will support your success with:
• Formal, hands-on training

Lead Software Engineer Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with our engineering team to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions.
• Define and document best practices for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to develop cloud competencies within teams.
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability, maintaining high standards for code quality and design.
• Manage cloud environments following security guidelines.
• Design, build, and deploy AWS applications, including large-scale data processing, statistical modeling, and analytics.
• Participate in all phases of the AWS software development lifecycle: planning, requirements, development, testing, and QA.
• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, document issues, and implement preventive measures.
• Educate teams on new cloud initiatives and provide necessary training.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to proactively address issues impacting productivity.

Lead Software Engineer Qualifications:

• At least three years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing AWS cloud solutions.
• Knowledge of the five pillars of a well-architected framework.
• Experience in areas such as database architecture, ETL, BI, big data, machine learning, and analytics.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject-matter experts.
• Understanding of finance and accounting practices, especially rebates, is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, IT, or mathematics.
• AWS certifications.
