WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The RBC Cloud team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing Cloud journey.In this role, and as part of the FinOps Team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated solutions that enhance financial reporting for the Cloud Program, while supporting key functions such as chargeback, cost optimization, and delivering insights into application usage, customer adoption, and overall cloud spend efficiency.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Design and implement custom chargeback and showback logic to enable accurate cloud cost allocation across business units
Build and maintain automation to support financial reporting, usage tracking, and cloud metrics dashboards.
Partner with finance, engineering, and product teams to provide transparency into cloud spend and identify optimization opportunities.
Develop and support data pipelines and tooling to analyze application usage, customer adoption, and service consumption trends.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of cloud financial data across reporting platforms and stakeholder deliverables.
Contribute to FinOps best practices and drive continuous improvement in cost governance and operational efficiency.
Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
5+ years of development experience in Python & JavaScript in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.
Strong experience developing & utilizing API’s.
Expert experience with public cloud technologies like AWS, Azure or GCP.
Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.
A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
Nice-to-have:
A strong understanding of finances, chargeback allocations, budgeting and cost optimizations.
Experience with AWS Lambda, Azure Databricks, Cosmos DB/NoSQL DB.
Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses.
