Job summary

CPKC is seeking a Supervisor, Signals & Communications Maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation of S&C systems supporting efficient train movement. Responsibilities include testing, commissioning, data reporting, and regulatory submissions for the Northern Ontario corridor (Cartier to Schreiber).

The role may base out of Sudbury or Chapleau, Ontario, with flexibility on location and substantial travel (80–90%).

Qualifications

Must have a High School diploma and an Electronics Technology Diploma.
Minimum of 2 years railway or related experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Strong understanding of VoIP, networking, fiber optics, and telecom carrier systems.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP and asset management systems.
Knowledge of S&C standards and regulatory requirements; teamwork and leadership.

Responsibilities

Provide safety leadership and promote safety culture.
Oversee commissioning of new or modified S&C systems, voice recorders, and data circuits.
Manage radio systems, including licensing and interference investigation.
Conduct electrical and mechanical testing of in-service and spare S&C equipment.
Maintain records of S&C equipment, configurations, and testing.
Coordinate S&C activities with maintenance and construction teams; liaise with regulators and partners.
Supervise staff, coach juniors, and manage labour and budgets.
