Job summary

Services Nunavik invites applications for the Services Nunavik Officer position in Kangiqsualujjuaq. This permanent full-time role involves informing clients about employment programs, analyzing applications, delivering employment services, and gathering regional statistics.

Travel within Nunavik and to external sites is required. The successful candidate will have a Secondary V diploma (or equivalent) and bilingual or multilingual capabilities in Inuktitut, English, or French, with on-the-job

Qualifications

• Hold a Secondary V diploma or have equivalent work experience.
• Written and oral working knowledge of at least two of the following: Inuktitut, English and French.
• Have office work experience (file forms, write reports, reading regulations, etc.).
• Strong analysis and communication skills and be autonomous and reliable.
• Be willing to complete on-the-job training for at least six (6) months.

Responsibilities

• Inform clients about the different programs offered by Service Canada and Services Québec.
• Acquire knowledge of the Act respecting Individual & Family Assistance, related standards, regulations and policies, and clients' rights and recourses.
• Analyze applications submitted by residents in Nunavik communities for provincial and federal programs.
• Provide employment and training services to the population to access the labour market or re-entry.
• Gather statistics on employment in the region by entering data in MESS and File Maker Pro.
• Travel within Nunavik and outside the territory as needed for department matters.
• Public speaking to inform the population about services and employability.
• Perform other related duties as required.
