Job summary

Nasdaq, Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Lead QA Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of North American equities market systems. You will design test plans, automate tests, and drive defects resolution across the release cycle.

You will lead testing across phases, develop internal tools, and improve QA procedures to support scalable software delivery in a high‑pressure financial tech environment. This role offers hybrid work from the Toronto office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and functional testing within a high‑performance or financial technology environment.
  • Proven experience with automated testing frameworks and back‑end systems testing in a command‑line/server‑based environment.
  • Strong scripting skills with the ability to build and maintain test automation and tooling.
  • Familiarity with source code management and defect tracking tools used in agile or fast‑paced development workflows.

Job description

As a Lead QA Test Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Nasdaq's North American equities market systems — some of the most complex and high‑stakes trading platforms in the world. You'll thrive in this position if you're detail-oriented, technically sharp, and passionate about building systems that work flawlessly under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and scripts to validate the quality and performance of core trading and market data systems.

This position will be located in Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in‑office.

  • The base pay range for this role is $106,000 - $148,000.
  • In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short‑term incentive), and equity (long‑term incentive), comprehensive benefits and opportunity for growth.
